India throughout the ages has carried out spirituality and wisdom. It is passed on from one generation to another thorough the "Guru-Shishya" tradition.Though some texts are inscribed in the form of inscriptions, manuscripts, but the core of the wisdom has carried out orally(hail to the strong memory of our ancestors!!yeh...)One such tradition we know is "Vipassana".
Most of the time people mistook the tradition of vipassna and give credit of inventing technique of vipassana to the Gautama Buddha(Disclaimer:no doubt on the wisdom of buddha🤐 but truth is truth😜).
The truth is that India itself has carried out the tradition of vipassna throughout the ages through saints, sages, gurus and sadhak's.So Vipassana is an age old tradition of Indian culture which is reinvented 2500 years ago by Gautama the Buddha (that's it huh...😪)(As said by S.N. Goyanka ji no extremist propaganda😅)
Vipassna is a meditation technique in which we have to sense our whole body from head to toes and toes to head(Like Going on a two way road trip and then taking a U turn after a long journey😪).So it deals with the sensations we feel in&on our body.Because senses are the inputs through which we inscribe good or bad things on our mind.Vipassna shivir is a 10 day course. It starts with ANAPANA meditation where we are supposed to keep our attention on the breath. If mind wanders in between then bring the attention back to inhale and exhale of breathing. It is a prerequisite in shivir to settle our mind.Trust me we get fade up while doing this thing continuously for 3 days. But it is a necessity to understand the whole process of Vipassana.Through this process we get to understand what kind of flickery mind we have, just like described by Tibetan monks a "MONKEY MIND"😖.While undergoing this process we understand that it's our mind which is controlling us because of the age old 'SANKHARAS'(Sanskars).Since our birth till date we have faced different kind of situations, undergone different emotional situations, also learned in macholian schools where rot learning is taught instead of teaching the ancient wisdom of India, which is यद भावम तद भवंति! and it's because of this our mind is controlling our behaviour.
So now go to the 4th day of vipassna shivir where we are introduced to the Vipassna technique.Believe me or not you might think like That's it!!!?? 😮😮Just to sense my body I have invested 10 days of my life. That's it no sakhsatkar or moksh like thing. But it's just the beginning as we start our inward journey through this process. So for the rest of 6 days we have to repeat this process of feeling sensation on our body with 10 hours of daily meditation (In which 3 periodic hours of adhisthan). You might be wondering what is this adhishtan so here is the answer - In Adhisthan you have to sit and meditate for 1 hour without making any kind of body movement(Really!!! YESSSS🙄).So the actual movie starts from 5th day, it's because of our daily meditation our mind starts to go back to age old sankharas(Sanskars), the deep rooted sankharas. We actually starts to get different kind of experiences or visualisations while meditating like our mind is going deep deep into something,or having visualisations of past good or bad experiences. Mostly on 5th or 6th day many of us might fell ill because of the deep rooted wrong things-thought,someone cries while meditating, someone's anger may pop up,or someone may have different kind of experience(It actually depends on your own deeply rooted thoughts).
Here onwards we start to get thoughts like what has happened in past has already been happened no one can change it,now we have to start again. We have a big life ahead. On days of 6th,7th,8th and 9th we fell in the loop of experiencing past things and have a overheat of mind and deciding about what to do next. This process is never ending because we are living in a world where life only stops after our last breath. We tend to think like really this kind of life I have lived and yes actually there is need to change it.
It's actually the beginning of your awareness of own thoughts, reactions, response and behaviour.
In short if I say,Vipassna is like settling the shaking water in a pot and looking at the bottom-taking out the impurities and then consistently making an effort that no more impurities get collected at the bottom again.(huh...😪)
So now the question arises, Really does the life changes after Vipassana. The answer is, Somebody will say yes definitely or somebody will say not so really. But one thing is crystal clear we have to practise meditation persistently even after 10 days course. Then we can surely say that it is helping us in some or other way & if you want your own answer like does this magic really works or not? do vipassna course at least for once in your life.😁
Have a happy weekend!!😎
